This facility characterizes the size and size distribution of polymers and nano-objects. FFF technology in particular characterizes the size of all nanometric systems ranging from the macro-molecular scale (proteins, polysaccharides, micelles, polymers) to the particle (microparticles, nanoparticles, viruses, etc.).

Characteristics

  • HPLC Shimadzu chain upstream coupled with Channel LC or Frit-inlet channel (Wyatt), membranes possible regenerated cellulose acetate 1, 5 or 10 kD or PES 5 or 10 kD
  • Eclipse fractionation system of Wyatt (the different streams are adjusted according to the type of material to analyze)
  • RI Sopares detector
  • UV detector accordable in wavelength
  • MALS Dawn Eleos Wyatt 18-angle detector

Applications

  • RAMMI – use of polysaccharides coupled with innovative radioisotopes
  • TheraneaM – use of microparticles as carriers of medicine for the processing of large tumors by radionuclide therapy
  • Gadolymph project – use of nanohydrogels encapsulating gadolinium contrast agents for MRI
  • AGuiX® project – use of nanoparticles for PET-MRI

Analysis better suited for materials under 1µm in size, only in an aqueous solution (no organic solvent).
